As a lecturer at the American University of Armenia, I was invited on April 28, 2026, to deliver a webinar for the American University of Kurdistan on the timely and critical topic of disinformation and misinformation. The session explored the origins and mechanisms behind fake news, including its sources, methods of dissemination, and its intersections with propaganda. Particular attention was given to the role of human psychology, confirmation bias, and default human tendencies in shaping how individuals consume and share information.

The webinar engaged an audience based in Duhok, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and fostered thoughtful discussion on the challenges posed by the modern information landscape. According to feedback from the organizing team, the session was very well received, with participants showing strong interest in the subject matter and its real-world implications.
